Pumpkin Patch
Every Spring the preschoolers plant pumpkins for the pumpkin patch. They are all invited back in the fall to pick out a pumpkin for Halloween. We have a Halloween Scavenger Hunt that is facilitated by the FOS, Friends of Swansonville Church. We started the Hunt the year we were dealing with Covid and were looking for a safe way for the children in the Port Ludlow area to celebrate the holiday. Every year the participation has grown. Last year we had over 30 kids. They walk down Werner Road and have about 13 houses to visit. When they are done with the trick or treating, we have a pinata at the Pumpkin Patch. It’s a really safe and fun way to celebrate Halloween.
Under The Sea
This winter the preschool added a 500 square foot heated play area that we call, ”Under the Sea”. The room is complete with a 12 by 15 foot Pirate Castle bouncy house that works great for burning up some energy on those rainy Washington days. There are jellyfish, turtles, mermaids, and sharks adorning the walls. Lots of room for a Karaoke and dance parties! This extra space comes in handy when the weather doesn’t cooperate. No one minds a rainy day anymore!
